Phase One Deck Construction Project - Starting Today, June 11!

Letters were distributed last night to owners who will be receiving a new deck this summer which means the construction of new decks in Phase One will be complete by the end of Summer 2009! We do apologize for sending out the letters with such short notice we were waiting for the vendor to determine when they would start construction. The demolition of the decks will happen quickly over the next 2-3 weeks so please keep your eye out and remove all items from your deck when Hammerdown is getting close to your unit. Thank you!

Is there a reason why The garbage was not picked up the past Thursday from Phase 1?? It looks and smells absolutely dicusting, can somebidy get in touch with the garbage people or the city and get them to pick it it ASAP???

I to went looking for the garbage bin with a truck full of garbage to unload. I almost left it on the cement pad. Why would they hand deliver notices when the bin is not there?

There are very few people in our area that have removed their belongings from their patios. I believe this is because all of our neighbors are renters and don't care about the condo projects. I strongly recomend that the letters should be sent out to the owners and not the people living in the units otherwise nothing will ever get done.

I think I saw the garbage bin behind the houses at the end of 32 AVE in the alley. I don't understand why they'd put the bin in the area where the decks have already been completed!! It doesn't make any sense to me.

Many people have been leaving their garbage on the cement pad where the bin is supposed to be. I'd suggest you do this in the meantime, given that there doesn't seem to be a bin.

The bin in the alley between 32 & 33 Ave belongs to Hammerdown and is solely for hauling away the dismantled decks. The Board is checking into why the bin was not delivered as promised Friday evening. In the meantime it seems the best alternative is to continue to place your discarded items on the concrete pad where the bin was supposed to be.

Has the work started on the decks yet?

I think they should work on one group of townhouses at a time and complete them and then go onto the next group. We shouldn't be expected to go without a deck for several weeks while they are working on another section.

That's how they did it the first time around. It didn't take them that long. Yes it's an inconvinience, but it's worth it in the end.

Thanks for the info.

I was under the impression that they were taking all the decks off this week and working on rebuilding them over the next 3 months.

They're pretty quick. They get the bottom structure in place pretty quickly. It will be a while before railings appear, but you can still use the deck in the meantime.

The decks look good so far, I am impressed with the quality of flooring.
